Tasley Parish council have resolved to apply to the Public Works Loan Board for a loan of £4500 to replace 6 ageing concrete streetlight columns and to convert all streetlights to LED lanterns and part night operation.

The loan would be repayable over a period of 7 years with a fixed interest of 2.5% per annum.

The works are necessary because :

a) The streetlight columns might begin to deteriorate and ultimately collapse.

b) The LED bulbs and part-night operation will save energy, leading to less cost to the council tax payer in the long run and there will be benefits to the environment.
