Tasley Neighbourhood Plan

Tasley Parish Council intend to prepare a neighbourhood plan for the Parish.

A Neighbourhood Plan gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the growth of their local area.

The Plan focuses on what residents want and will be drawn up by a Steering Committee comprising of parish councillors and local residents, assisted by an independent planning consultant and by officers of Shropshire Council. The Neighbourhood Plan, once adopted, will have a standing in law, and alongside the Shropshire Local Plan, will focus on the future development of the area. Shropshire Council have designated the whole of Tasley Parish (see plan) for the purpose of preparing a neighbourhood plan.

We are looking for individuals to represent the residents of Tasley by serving on the Steering Committee. Key areas of the Plan might be:

  • Ensuring environmental factors and sustainability in the development of the area.
  • Contribute to a shared vision for the neighbourhood, including development and growth.
  • Plan better footpaths and introduce more cycle paths, including reduction in car use where appropriate.
  • Retain greenfield sites
  • To identify areas suitable for future development.
